Key Club International is the world’s largest high school community service group, with more than 200,000 members worldwide and is part of the Kiwanis family of service organizations. The Seaman Key Club Chapter is open to all 9th-12th grade students. During the school year, members are involved in a number of service projects (at least one a month). Some examples of past projects are having elementary school pen-pals, creating a Christmas tree for Sheltered Living’s “Festival of Trees”, collecting toys as gifts for the children of needy families, sponsoring a Veteran’s Day celebration, raising money to donate to charitable causes, and offering volunteer assistance to community organizations that request help. There are numerous scholarships offered to club members and opportunities to attend conferences. Membership fee is $15 (this pays for your local dues, Kansas District dues and International dues). Key Club Motto: “Caring is our way of life.”
