University of Kansas Medical Center Pre-Med Summer Program

The Office of Diversity and Inclusion (ODI), at the University of Kansas Medical Center (KUMC) - School of Medicine is happy to announce that applications for our Pre-Med Summer Programs will be open as of February 1, 2019.

The mission of the ODI Summer Programs is to provide academic opportunities that will assist in the development of underrepresented students and their advancement in health-related careers.

In support of our recruitment efforts, we hope that you can help us identify students with great potential and an interest in the health fields.

The program available for graduating high school seniors:

Health Science Enrichment Institute - A five-week summer program on the KUMC campus for college Freshmen and Sophomores that offers instruction in various upper level Science and Health related courses, such as Microbiology, Organic Chemistry, and Intro. to Medicine.

A flier for this program is attached for your convenience to copy and distribute to your students.

The program will provide a stipend and KUMC will cover classes, meals and some housing for those who live outside of a 30 mile radius of the KUMC campus.
